Wu Yiqiang also suggested that bamboo machinery be included in the scope of agricultural machinery subsidies. Beginning in 1998, the central government began to set up special funds to subsidize the purchase of agricultural machinery. From 2021 to 2023, the types of agricultural machinery purchase subsidies provided by the central government funds nationwide include 172 items in 44 subcategories and 15 major categories. By 2022, the comprehensive mechanization rate of crop cultivation and harvesting in the country will reach 73%.
So, how to solve the problem of logging and transporting more than 100 million acres of bamboo forest down the mountain? Representative Wu Yiqiang said that the purchase of logging and transportation machinery, such as logging shears, chain saws, transportation rails, ropeways, and ivy equipment for harvesting and transporting bamboo, must be included in a category similar to agricultural machinery subsidies. At the same time, in order to encourage equipment manufacturing companies to develop advanced bamboo machinery and equipment, it is recommended that the purchase of bamboo machinery by bamboo processing companies be included in agricultural machinery subsidies, so that bamboo processing companies can purchase the latest bamboo machinery.
