On November 7, 2022, the Chinese government and the International Bamboo and Rattan Organization jointly launched the "Bamboo instead of Plastic" initiative. "Bamboo instead of Plastic" has quickly become a hot topic of great international and domestic concern. In October 2023, the National Development and Reform Commission and other departments issued the "Three-Year Action Plan to Accelerate the Development of "Replacing Plastic with Bamboo"". In November 2023, the "Bamboo Replaces Plastic" Global Action Plan (2023-2030) was officially released at the first "Bamboo Replaces Plastic" International Symposium...
Thanks to the efforts of the Chinese government, "bamboo instead of plastic" products have become increasingly diversified, and sales of "bamboo instead of plastic" bamboo products such as bamboo fiber molded tableware and bamboo cutlery and spoons have grown rapidly. However, my country's "replacing bamboo with plastic" is still in its infancy. Plastic products still account for more than 90% of the market share, and the "plastic ban" is far from being deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.
At the National Two Sessions in 2024, "replacing plastic with bamboo" has become a topic of concern to many representatives, who put forward many constructive suggestions in terms of increasing the promotion of "replacing plastic with bamboo" products, base construction, technological innovation, and special fund investment.
